A horizontal metal bar placed at a 45-degree angle to the feed direction of a printing press. When feeding from the side, an angle bar is used to bypass the former folder. Ribbon folders also have angle bars. It is frequently perforated and filled with air to reduce web friction.

An angle bar, also known as an L-bracket or a “angle iron,” is a right-angled metal bracket. It is made of galvanized steel and is frequently used in masonry or applied to various surfaces via welding or drilling.

Angle bars are often utilized to support beams and other platforms, but their usefulness goes beyond their usual role. Angle bars can provide additional strength and stability to a structural frame or metal object, protect structures from corrosion and even provide additional stability.

Structures Support Has Been Strengthened
Large angle bars add strength and stability to columns and beams by providing structural support. They also provide vertical and horizontal support for structures like towers and broadcasting equipment. Angle bars are more resistant to corrosion and other weather effects because they are made of galvanized steel.

Edges and corners should be reinforced.
Angle metal bars can also be used to cover edges and corners, keeping the structure in shape and preventing weather-related wear and tear. Sharp corners and edges reinforced with angle metal bars have a longer lifespan and are more resistant to chipping and corrosion. They also add strength to each corner and make it more stable.

Angle metal bars can be used to move heavy objects from one point to another in areas where there is a lot of welding and other industrial activity when no cart or trolley is available. To do so, flip the angle metal bar so that the closed side is facing up and the open side is facing down. Place the object on top and push it down to allow it to slide on top of the bar’s point until the object reaches its destination.

Bed frames, tables, and benches are supported by smaller angle metal bars. They are also frequently used as a prop for anchored-to-the-wall shelves. When shelves are loaded with heavy items, they provide strong support. Because of their industrial appearance, however, angle metal bars are best suited to hold up shelves in areas like garages and laundry rooms.
