The cold storage panel can be employed in both positive and negative temperature climate-controlled premises or conditioned areas. Smooth, striated, or micro-striated finishes are available for this type of panel.

PIR components provide excellent insulation, are very effective, and are light in weight. They have great heat conductivity, a high weight resistance, and a wide range of production options.

Closed-cell insulation is injected between metal plates that are sealed during the manufacturing process. The outcome is a self-supporting cold storage panel with little variation in insulating capacity over time.

Some manufacturers offer cold storage panels using expanded polystyrene insulation (EPS), which is also suitable for cold room thermal insulation, but because the thermal conductivity of the foam is 1.5-2 times that of polyurethane foam sandwiches, the panel thickness must be at least 20-30% higher.

When obtaining heat-insulating sandwich panels, keep in mind that minimal purchase quantities will result in panels of standard length, thus you’ll need to acquire sandwich panels with waste for cutting the panel to fit the specifications of your chamber.

Due to their significant moisture absorption, mineral wool and basalt sandwich panels often used in construction are not appropriate for thermal insulation of refrigerating and freezing chambers. Moisture impregnation causes the material’s thermal insulating qualities to rapidly deteriorate. Mineral wool also performs poorly in terms of thermal insulation when compared to polyurethane foam.
